Stratford Lodge is a granite homestead built for pastoralist James Orr in 1848 or 49. It is not known if the house was built in stages or at one time. There are two projecting wings to each end of the main facade and there is an encircling timber verandah. The roof is clad in iron. The house is U-shaped in plan about a courtyard and there is a slab kitchen.
